My stories have power—they move people, open up hard conversations, disrupt the familiar, and create spaces for healing. Characters drive my stories and they find ways to move through the muck that eventually allows them to shine, connect, repair, and rebuild; and not just for the sake of story but for the audience.
Along with being a writer I am a clinical social worker; my work shapes how I explore emotions and thoughts. When I think about story and film I think about the importance of gathering—this shared experience that is uniquely felt, a connection to others where we can see ourselves, and communal interactions that grow us.
